Washington National Parks require a permit for any ceremony (yes, even just the two of you, even a vow renewal). But Mt Baker doesn't! We know which locations require permits, which are weekday-only, when to apply, and exactly who to contact. We know which trails are quiet, where the light hits at golden hour, and which lakes dry up by September. You won't have to figure any of it out alone.

No missing the moment because your officiant is in the way. We can also sign your marriage license as your officiant + 1 witness (and we always find a hiker to sign as the other witness). Mountains, rainforests, beaches, and alpine lakes, Washington genuinely has it all, and we've got strong opinions on all of it.
For mountains and epic adventures our favorites are Mt. Rainier National Park, North Cascades National Park and Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest & Artist Point, and Olympic National Park. For wildflowers: Mt Rainier National Park, For alpine lakes: Mt Baker/North Cascades. For forests, hands-down Olympic National Park, specifically either Hoh Rainforest or Quinault Rainforest. Those old-growth forests are just so magical & mossy. For beaches & cliffs, again we love Olympic National Park! Rialto Beach & Ruby beach are beyond magical both at sunrise & sunset, and if you're there on a low tide day - epic tidepools. For waterfalls: Olympic, Mt Rainier, Snoqualmie, and Gifford National Forests are all epic (some are more accessible than others though).

Well it really depends, and it's something we can walk you through (after all, we do speak "land management office")
For Mt Rainier National Park, yes, you will need a permit and there are set ceremony locations within the park (even for just two people or a vow renewal). Some of those locations have limited days they are available, for example: Reflection Lake is only available Tuesday-Thursday, and all have a group size limit. Some are 30, most are around 12-8 people, and many can't be reserved on weekends. The permit costs $550 + a $25 application fee. For Olympic National Park, yes if you have over 5 people total (including vendors). Any elopements within designated wilderness must have 12 people or less, and any group larger than that up to the max of 50 will need to request front range areas (overlooks, picnic areas, beaches, etc). But if your idea of adventure is sailing into the sunset, picnicking by a misty lake, or stargazing around a campfire with the mountains as your backdrop? That’s adventure, too.

Washington’s weather is…well, she’s a little extra. Sunshine in the morning, snowstorm by afternoon (yes this has really happened!) especially in the mountains. Spring and fall have the most unstable weather and more rain, while summer is best for sunny days! Washington's weather, especially on the coast or in the mountains changes by the hour, and the forecast is typically only accurate 48hrs out, even then, we've been surprised day of.
But here’s the good news: we build flexible timelines, have backup locations, and know how to pivot like pros. Plus, we never book elopements back-to-back that way you always have a guaranteed back-up day with us!

Our favorite months in Washington are hands down July & August, especially for better weather and an explosion of wildflowers! (exactly when we'll be there). But fall and spring can be epic too! We love fall for the larches in the North Cascades and Spring for the greenery and quietness in Olympic National Park.
As for how in advanced, well it depends. We've planned elopements in less than 2 weeks before, and many of our elopements are planned in under 2 months, and its absolutely doable! But for elopements planned within 1-2 months, we usually recommend permit-free locations like Olympic if it's just you two, or Artist Point. You can still get permits for Mt. Rainier National Park within 2 months, but we recommend being flexible on your ceremony location, in case your top choice has no permits left.
We've also had couples plan elopements a year out, so it's absolutely up to you and your timeline.
You don't need a location or an exact date to book with us, as we will help you narrow down the best times to elope and where based on exactly what you're looking for.

The short answer: yes.
Bringing a few of your loved ones along on your day is something incredibly special, so if you want them to join you there's just a few things to keep in mind!
Many of the locations within the National Parks have a total group size limit, so the more people you have, the more limited you are in terms of ceremony locations. This is also true in locations like Artist Point or other National Forest locations. Many locations have limited parking available, and in order to follow Leave No Trace and keep these areas beautiful & protected, we recommend keeping your elopement to 15 people or less.
There are some locations within the National Parks that allow up to 50 people total, however, those permits are more competitive and will require you to apply further in advance. Definitely worth it if you have a larger guest count and still want that wild elopement experience :)
